Ben Crane is beginning three exciting weeks today. This week he is in San Martin, California. This is the site of the PGA Tour's Fryes.Com Open. He will have a slight interruption tomorrow when he flies to Dallas for a Zurich "Corporate Day". Zurich is one of Ben's major sponsors. He will fly into Dallas from San Jose and back to San Jose tomorrow. That is interesting since he lives in Dallas. He is already on the west coast practicing.
The following two weeks Ben will be participating in tournaments he has won. Next week is The McGladrey Classic on the Seaside Course at Sea Island, Georgia. Ben will be defending the Championship he won last year when he defeated Webb Simpson in a play-off. Crane birdied 8 of the final 11 holes to force the play-off.
Ben then flies to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the CIMB Classic which he won two years ago. This event is the only PGA Tour sanctioned event in the area. It is also co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. Other participants in the CIMB Classic this year include Tiger Woods, Rickie Fowler, Jason Dufner, Nick Watney, and defending champion Bo Van Pelt among others. This tournament will again be played at The Mines Resort and Golf Club. Ben has developed quite a following in Malaysia since his exciting victory 2 years ago when he sank a 12 foot left to right putt on the final hole for a 1 shot victory.
